From Chopin to reggae to Latin music, Miami is a city that grooves. No matter your music personal preference, Miami has a venue that will please you.

Live Music

Miami’s live music scene is not blooming. Instead of local bands garnering devoted fans, local DJs are more popular, skyrocketing much more easily to fame. However, there are still several places that strive to bring Miami up to rate as far as live music is concerned. You just have to look and listen to it a bit more carefully.

Winter Music Conference – Every March, Miami is besieged by the most unconventional conventions the city has ever seen. The Winter Music Conference, the world’s biggest and most important gathering of DJs, remixes, agents, artists, and pretty much anyone who makes a dime off of the booming electronic music industry hailing from more than 60 countries from all over the world. But unlike most conventions, this one is absolutely interactive and open to the paying public as South Beach and Miami’s hottest clubs transform into showcases for the various audio wares.

Bongos Cuban Café  located at 601 Biscayne Blvd, Miami. Latin sounds are a Miami specialty here, which provides Cuban fare on the menu and a packed dance floor on weekend nights.

Mango’s Tropical Café at 900 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, the cabaret-style performances are the specialty.

Tobacco Road is known for its live music roster and acts that have performed here include BB King, Koko Taylor, Junior Washington, and August Campbell.

For jazz and R&B fans, Dade County’s oldest saloon is the place to be.

For classical music lovers, Miami offers an amazing array of choices. In Coral Gables, the Miami Bach Society features the music of J.S. Bach and his Baroque contemporaries, and an International Baroque Music Festival held in March. The Chopin Foundation presents many classical music concerts that are free to the public.
